In the structure of small entrepreneurship by type of economic activity, up to
2017, 47% belongs to wholesale and retail trade, repair of vehicles and motorcycles;
8% - for information and telecommunications; 7% - industry and professional,
scientific and technical activities; 6% - for the provision of other types of services
(Figure 5). The remaining types of economic activity do not exceed 5% in the overall
structure of small enterprises.

The above structure fully characterizes the popularity of certain types of economic
activity among small enterprise entities, but does not correspond to the directions of
state facilitation, which reflect the strategic priorities of the state and cover the
following types of economic activity: agriculture, forestry and fisheries; health care
and social assistance; industry; professional, scientific and technical activities;
transport, warehousing and courier activities. According to the author, such a structure
of small enterprise entities can be considered unsatisfactory from the point of view of
state interests, at the same time it reflects the tendencies inherent in small enterprise in
most countries of the world.
