The largest volumes of sold products (goods and services) by small enterprise
entities were recorded in the wholesale and retail trade (Figure 6). These types of
economic activity account for about half of the total sales of their products. 13% and
12% respectively correspond to industry and agriculture, forests, fisheries, 7% for
construction and 5% for transport, warehousing, postal and courier activities. The share
of products sold by small enterprises in other types of economic activity does not
exceed 4%. This tendency testifies to the distortion of the structure of sales of products
by small enterprises by types of economic activity and clearly illustrates the priorities
of the latter.

The number of employed workers in small enterprises tends to decrease (Fig. 7).
The highest indicator of official employment in small enterprises was recorded in 2010
-2164.6 thousand people. The lowest employment among small enterprises was
observed in 2015 and since then has slightly increased. In general, the indicator in 2017
is at 76.3% of the figure in 2010, which is due not only to a real decrease in the
employment of small enterprises, but also to the unofficial employment of a part of the
staff. According to the estimates of the International Labor Organization, the World
Bank, sociological services, the level of informal employment in Ukraine ranges from
2 to 4.7 million people. In fact, this is from 14 to 33% of officially working.
