Figure 14. Net profit (loss) of small enterprise entities in Ukraine according to
the enlarged types of economic activity in 2010-2017, UAH million
Source: Developed by authors on the basis of [9]
For most types of economic activity, small enterprise entities have negative
financial results. The activity of small enterprises engaged in agriculture, forestry and
fisheries remains stable, but even in this type of activity there is a decrease of net profit
in 2017 by almost 30% compared to the indicator in 2016.
It is worth noting that the total balance of financial result (net profit / loss) on the
results of economic activity of small enterprise entities for the last eight years remains
negative and at the end of 2017 corresponds to the value -20971.9 million UAH, which
is 6.7% higher than the 2010 figure and is 11.7% in 2014 and 17.7% in 2015. Such a
negative tendency testifies to the unsatisfactory state of the national small enterprise
and the need for urgent facilitation of its development, especially considering its
significance in the structure of the national economy.
The negative balance of the total financial result of economic activity against the
backdrop of an increase in the share of profitable entities of small enterprise indicates
an increase in the volume of losses over profits in the calculation of 1 entity of small
enterprise.
