channels the development of all processes in the child's organism. In case of
experiencing violence, the formation of a socially desirable personality becomes
extremely difficult. The distorted direction of mental development leads to the
inadequate behavior of the child (deviant behavior), to the appearance of the feeling of
psychological discomfort. The adoption of behavioral patterns, the accumulation of
conflicted energy in the child, gained while living in a family, becomes later an
associative stimulus that affects their perception of normal life situations. It is these
individuals who subsequently become potential offenders and victims.
In particular, greater victimity of children and adolescents can be determined not
only by their psycho-physiological qualities but also by their social roles, their place in
the system of social relations, their position in the family. However, it should be kept
in mind that adults have power and authority over children, and hence the children are
the vulnerable members of the family due to their age-related developmental
characteristics and that they experience the most severe consequences as a result of
abuse. Psychologists state that the most frequent outcome of the violence against
children is the development of abnormalities in their physical and mental development
and emotional sphere.
Besides, in some families, unjustified hopes and expectations are placed on the
children. Constant reproaching (which is psychological abuse by nature) that the child
does not meet such expectations may lead to the development of low self-esteem and
cause intense stress, depression, state of anxiety and suicidal behavior.
CONCLUSION
To sum up, it should be noted that the resolution of an interpersonal conflict by
violating socio-legal norms through violence, is already a manifestation of the person's
complex of willfulness and illusions. The conditions contributing to the development
of such a conflict will be different in each particular case. Moreover, victims of
domestic violence have specific victimal qualities and should not be studied outside
the criminogenic family situation. Indeed, relationships between the members of the
same family are already of a specific nature, since they combine simultaneously
individual and common interests, needs, desires, and expectations.
The victimal characteristics that may influence the behavior of a woman when
domestic violence is used against her are the anatomical-physiological, biological and
psychological qualities, as well as social roles and status-based features imposed by
society. In turn, these qualities may also influence making the decision to commit
suicide as a way to avoid being exposed to violent actions.
With regard to children, the victimal characteristics that may affect the behavior
of a child as a victim of domestic violence are psychophysiological characteristics and
social roles that are determined by their age. Here, the main condition for the realization
