For more clear understanding of tendencies in structural shifts in employment by
the types of activity, it is necessary to analyze the mass of a structural shift with further
distinction between internal and external shifts.
Under the internal shift it is understood the amount of change in the share of a
specific type of economic activity in the total number of employed which was due to
the change in the number of employed in this type of activity against the conditional
constancy of number of employed in other types of economic activity; under the
external shift it is understood a change in the proportion of the analyzed type of activity
due to the changes in the number of employed in other types of activity (in relation to
the analyzed one) [10, 11, р. 104].
