After this kind of work the younger schoolchildren were to make a story about
children’s entertainments in winter, using nouns, adjectives and verbs in the text. The
experimental form and control form pupils did the task, but due to the qualitative
exponents the pupils’ utterances from the experimental form were characterized by the
bigger number of word usage, speech vividness, logical narration, bigger number of
bright facts etc. The pupils’ utterances from the control form were limited to building
2 – 3 sentences, where it was difficult to describe the whole range of winter
entertainments.
For example there are two utterances of the pupils from the control form and from
the experimental one.
Оlena V. (control form)
Winter
I like winter holidays very much,
I toboggan from the hill and
visit the New Year celebrations.
Аlina Z. (experimental form)
Winter Entertainments
This year the nature has presented us with snow-clad
fairy-tale winter; it had painted the windows with white
frostwork, it had thrown snowdrifts and bound the river with
a thick layer of ice. And children have got a wonderful
skating-rink as a present. We skated, besides, we merrily
descended from the hill on the toboggan, made a snowman
and we were glad to have winter.
The grammar task to the coherent utterance was to separately write out the words
meaning object names, object features, and object actions. The pupils of the
experimental form correctly distributed the words used in their narrations into the
nouns, adjectives and verbs, and the pupils of the control form made some mistakes:
they referred the pronouns I, we to the nouns; the words which, how were referred to
the adjectives; the words can, gaily were referred to the verbs etc. In the percentage of
the made mistakes the pupils were distributed in the way it is shown in the table 1.

When studying the theme “Verb” the pupils of the experimental form were offered
a number of tasks using a computer. For example,
1) we are working together: read the poem by Т.G. Shevchenko from the
computer monitor, find and write out the verbs from the text.
Реве та стогне Дніпр широкий,
Сердитий вітер завива,
Додому верби гне високі,
Wide Dnieper is roaring and groaning,
An angry wind is howling,
It is bending high willows
