Such a usage of pronoun you is an addressable and peculiar feature of the spoken 

language of Eurodisco ELT. So, the meaning you can denote not only the image of the 
sung person, but also the addressee-listener, which reduces the distance between the 
speaker and the recipient.  

It is worth mentioning that the characteristic of Eurodisco ELT is a combination 

of “pure” prototype personal sentences with a subjective I та “semipositional” 
prototype personal sentences with a subjective you inside the same text:  

You're a woman, I'm a man  
This is more than just a game  
I can make you feel so right  
Be my lady of the night  
(Bad Boys Blue "You’re a woman, I’m a man") 
This is due to the thematic component of Eurodisco ELT – the relationship 

between people, friendship and love: 

You're my heart, you're my soul  
I keep it shining everywhere I go  
You're my heart, you're my soul  
I'll be holding you forever 
Stay with you together 
You're my heart, you're my soul 
Yeah, a feeling that our love will grow 
You're my heart, you're my soul  
That's the only thing I really know

Eurodisco ELT can be a narration spoken by the speaker – the main character, 

that is expressed by a personal pronoun І, and represented as the main narrator, whose 
eyes perceive events. That also prompts the bipolar displacement of the model I – you, 
you - I.  

However, the model I – you, you – I can exist in Eurodisco ELT not only as bipolar 

displacement, but on the contrary, it can have cognitive unity among themselves I + 
you indicating synonymous personal pronoun we:
