Organic fibers as a reinforcing component in the composition of PCM. The
properties of PCM are largely determined not only by the perfection and nature of the
binder, which is responsible for the raw of important operational properties like shear
strength, compressive and flexural strength, preservation of elastic-strength
characteristics at elevated temperatures, impact resistance, crack propagation, etc., but
also by the properties of reinforcing fibrous organic fibers. The method of regulating
the properties of PCM is the using of various types of organic or mineral fillers and
their mixtures, that are, combined fillers. «DuPont» Kevlar fibers (USA) are among
the most well-known high modulus organic fibers. All Kevlar-like fibers composed of
aromatic nuclei connected by amide bonds are commonly called aramid ones.
Kevlar aramid fibers are distinguished by high dimensional stability (they do not
shrink in both dry and wet conditions), good thermal characteristics (operating
