students and workers is of a great importance. Undoubtedly, there are self-motivated
individuals who move to the goal without any help. But, unfortunately, the number of
such people is not large, which is why so-called gamification is in high demand.
In primitive form it occurs in the form of marks we are familiar with in the system
of education. But such system excludes individual achievements of each person, as
those that simply cannot be taken into account due to the distribution of points between
a fixed number of control and independent work. Also, the usual evaluation system is
only episodic, and it does not allow the student to see his or her constant growth or its
absence in the background of others. This leads to the fact that only on the eve of the
exam student understands his situation.
The gamification system will provide teachers with an additional tool to mark the
achievement of certain students through existing or created unique graphic markers or
special tasks. An example is the "All Couples Visited" achievement, which may be
given to a student who has not missed any lecture.
In addition, the system will automatically calculate the conditional marks for
attending lectures, the timeliness of laboratory and homework, the activity (question to
the teacher, holding events), etc. Thus, each student will have a unique level of
engagement in the learning process, according to which teacher will be able to assess
the status of the student and his level of knowledge.
To create this system, the .NET platform and the C # languages, JavaScript [8]
are used. These technologies have been chosen because of their prevalence and ease of
use in any environment. To organize the development process, the Scrum methodology
was used, which is based on periodic results and creation of new actual tasks.
Evaluation approaches. As part of the network, on the subject pages, a separate
section is devoted to tests with adaptive evaluation [6]. Teachers can create tests and
associate them with lectures and practical tasks in the same way as regular files.
Accordingly, students can comment on them or ask questions. The testing system frees
the teacher from having to check the answers of students personally, lowering the
possibility of being mistaken during evaluation. Also, when a question has a new or
non-predicted answer, the score can be re-calculated for all students automatically.
In addition, the system allows setting clear time limits for conducting the
evaluation.
The testing system has the ability to work on a variety of question types:
-
questions with binary answers ("yes" or "no");
-
question where the correct answer is chosen from several, and the correctness of
each variant of the answer is estimated by the mark;
-
question where several correct answers are chosen from many options;
- 503 -
