Capital investment measures for protection and rehabilitation of soil,
underground and surface water amount to UAH 9. per 1 ha of agricultural land and 27
UAH of current expenses (Fig. 9).
Such indicators, of course, can not be considered sufficient. Ukraine is
experiencing significant environmental pollution. The situation with pollution of the
territory was complicated especially after the accident at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power
Station. Radio nuclides polluted more than 4.6 million hectares of land in 74 districts
of 11 regions, including 3.1 million hectares of arable land, and 119 thousand hectares
of agricultural land, including 65.0 thousand hectares of arable land, were removed
from use.

2. Indication of economic status. Ukraine occupied a prominent place among
the countries of the world in terms of agricultural production. According to experts, the
rational structure of land use and relevant scientific and resource filling of agriculture
of our country is able to provide food for 140-145 million people. At the same time, in
