University, engaged in extensive advocate practice, and others.
At the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, the institution of sworn attorneys
developed dynamically. Between the accusation and defense there were public
competitions in the correct understanding and application of the law, in wit, in the
brilliance of phrases and in comprehending the subtle zigzags of the human soul. The
prosecutor's office flaunted with "impartiality", and the defense took with
resourcefulness and pathetic. This was one of the results of the correctly chosen method
of teaching students, their reasonable approach to choosing a profession, the desire of
the faculty was not so much to be able to simply work at the Imperial Novorossiysk
University, which was undoubtedly prestigious, but to invest in students all the best
that could be in legal profession: a sense of justice and decency, knowledge of laws
and their skillful application for the benefit of people and the state.
Legal education as an initial stage of the formation of professional skills of
lawyers in modern Ukraine. The current development needs of civil society and the
rule of law in Ukraine dictate the need to improve the quality of advocacy and
professional training of lawyers to provide highly qualified legal assistance to all
individuals and legal entities. This is primarily due to the qualitative fundamental legal
education in its classical form.
In 1920, the Imperial Novorossiysk University was disbanded and only in 1933
was restored under the name of Odessa University. But the Faculty of Law was restored
as part of the Odessa State University named after I.I. Mechnikov only in June 1947
on the basis of the resolution of the Central Committee of the CPSU (b) of October 5,
1946 "On the expansion and improvement of legal education." But already in 1954 it
was closed. And again opened in 1960 for the correspondence form of training, and for
full-time studies only in 1966. From 1993 to 1997, he existed as a law institute in the

and legal doctrines (read since 1991); forensic psychiatry; forensic Medicine. It is
impossible not to note the logic; Latin language; foreign language.
