the linguistic view of the world may be defined as a subjective image of the objective
reality. In other words, «this is a complex of linguistic means where the features of
ethnic perception of the world are reflected» [2, p. 5].
Touching upon the problem of the linguistic view of the world, O. Selivanova
introduces the notion of «the mental lexicon of the language», which characterizes not
the consciousness of a separate speaker, but the interpretation of the real world by the
consciousness of the whole people, which is the bearer of one or another language [3,
p. 84].
The concept is a universal phenomenon through which one can determine the
features of the national linguistic view of the world. Every separate concept
demonstrates existence of certain values in a particular ethnic culture. The concept is
formed in the process of public activities of a language team, therefore, specific details
about the world, social, cultural and historical factors of the development of a society
are contained in the conceptual information.
Considering the nature and structure of the concept from the standpoint of
psycholinguistics, G. Zalevskaya emphasizes the reflection in it both rational and
emotional ways of mastering of the world, the combination of both abstract and specific
components, considers the concept as «the basic perceptive-cognitive-affective
formation of a dynamic nature that spontaneously functions in the cognitive and
communicative activity of the individual» [4, p. 39]. Since the concept is subject to
regularities of a man’s mental life, it should be distinguished from notions and
meanings as products of a scientific description [4, p. 39].
The study of the concept is impossible without a disclosure of the conceptual
component in its internal form. The conceptual component of the concept is the
linguistic fixation of the concept, its meaning, description, features, definitions,
synonyms and antonyms, comparative characteristics of the concept in relation to a
number of other concepts that do not exist in isolation. Verbalization of the concepts,
that is, a structured linguistic description of their content in the aspect of national
specificity, is especially relevant in the study of conceptual and linguistic views of the
world of different ethnic groups.
Speaking about the terminological system of the concept «Fashion», it is
necessary to note that the phenomenon of the fashion, no doubt, takes an important
place among other social phenomena. The fashion forms a dynamic value system with
a unique ability constantly to broadcast sociocultural and aesthetic values. In this
regard, professionals in the fields of journalism, the economy, business and, in general,
representatives of different categories of the society take a constant interest in the
landmark events of the fashion. It should be noted that fashion is endowed with an
important morally-ethical potential, it participates in the formation of people’s tastes
and reflects topical trends in public life.
