more than 80 % of all known types of insects, the other 28 rows – only about 20 % of
the species.
The long-term faunal studies of various agrolandscapes have made it possible to
determine the presence or absence of certain species in the entomological gatherings
and to compare existing species biodiversity with literary information.
An analysis of literary sources has been carried out and it has been determined
that 1604 species of insects of 31 rows and 221 families are included in the forest-
steppe of Ukraine (Table 1).

Our research found that the current state is 780 species of 27 rows and 183
families (see Table 1).
Since the needs of different types of insects relative to the environmental
conditions have their peculiarities, and the ecological niches occupied by them are
quite different, among insects there is also a significant variety of life forms. The vital
form is a historically complex set of biological, physiological and morphological
properties of the organism that causes a certain reaction to the influence of the
environment. According to the existing classification, the life forms of insects are
divided into "geophils" - geobionts and herpetobionts, and "phytophiles" - hortobionts
and dendrobionts.
Geobionts are organisms that exist in the soil and under the foundation
permanently or a certain period of the life cycle.
Herpetobionts are organisms of the superficial part of the soil.
Hortobionts are organisms thicker than herbaceous cover, which is created by
cereals.
Dendrobionts are the organisms of the trees and shrubs.
For various life forms of insects, appropriate specific methods of counting their
numbers have been developed, the use of which, through faunal studies, allows for
