regenerative processes, has an antiseptic effect. 

Higher concentrations of resorcinol (5-10 % ointment) have specific keratolytic 

(contributing to the rejection of the stratum corneum) and drying properties - they dry 
the horny layer, which is then easily removed. 

Resorcinol is used externally in the form of powder, aqueous and alcoholic 

solutions (2-5 %), ointments and pastes (5 - 10 – 20 %). 

In acne and hyperpigmentation, resorcinol is used as a grinding agent, prescribing 

(10-15) % resorcinol ointment. For the treatment of skin against red acne, a 1 % 
solution of resorcinol alcohol is used. When acne for rubbing into the skin (at night) is 
used jelly with the addition of resorcinol. 

β-hydroxy acids affect follicular hyperkeratosis, because they are weak 

keratolytics and have anti-inflammatory properties. They are used in different dosage 
forms, more often - in solutions (salicylic acid (0.5-5 %), resorcinol (1-3) %) [2, 10]. 

In recent years, the popularity of funds with hyaluron has increased dramatically, 

due to the unique effect of this substance on the skin:

Hyaluronic acid molecules with short chains have anti-inflammatory effects and 

are used to treat psoriasis, burns, acne and trophic ulcers. In cosmetology, the substance 
is usually used for the external treatment of the skin in the form of a cream, tonic or a 
means for injection. In combination with zinc, hyaluronic acid is used as a prophylactic 
agent for manifestations of acne [2, 7, 10]. 

Systemic acne treatment is indicated for the treatment of patients with moderate 

to severe acne, especially in cases of scarring, dyschromia, or significant psychosocial 
disorder. Systemic therapy may be necessary in case of intolerance or ineffectiveness 
of local treatment. 

The most effective drug for the treatment of acne of moderate to severe forms is 

isotretinoin, which is a structural analogue of vitamin A. It belongs to the preparations 
of the group of retinoids. It is used to treat acne, rosacea, dermatitis.
