the ASAID "Agroinvest" project, the cooperative was able to install an oilseed for the
production of flax, scrap, and packaging line for organic products.
The village of Krekhiv in Lviv region the cooperative "Agrosvitā was opened. He
started its work in the framework of the project "500 successful family farms", which
is being implemented in the Lviv region since the beginning of 2016. Today, the
cooperative has only 4 participants with their families, but part of the cooperative is
already striving to become both single-farm peasants and migrants from Eastern
Ukraine [15].
In October 2016, in the village of Staryi Pochayiv (Ternopil region), began to
work an agricultural cooperative "Shchedriy kray". The main activity is to provide
services to members of the cooperative for the processing of organic fruit and vegetable
products into dried fruits. The members of the cooperative were more than 70 people.
The cooperative understands well that a village that lives by growing berries and fruits
should have an extra benefit from the processing of the product.
At the beginning of the cooperation it was put in the village of Strumok in the
Odessa region, 3 farms were united for the cultivation of grapes and the production of
organic wines: supporting each other is easier to work not only in the field, but also
with documents, enter more profitable markets and supermarket chains.
Cooperation is a more powerful incentive for the development of agribusiness
than investment activity. A cooperative is a very convenient form for any state, because
it motivates the farmer to be active today and now, allowing him to feel the market
better and have a more stable and more predictable business.
This means that cooperatives are more flexible and motivated for other forms of
business associations. Moreover, what is important, that they make profits for the
farmer, helping him become a true master on earth, be closer to the consumer and
understand him better, see what is going on with his raw materials, and be proud of the
results of his work. Becoming a member of the cluster, the farmer receives access to
up-to-date knowledge, including marketing technologies, techniques, and seed
material. Due to this, he sells the product at a higher price, while maintaining his
independence [16].
The market for organic products in organic farming. Ukraine ranks first
worldwide in terms of certified organic standards of sunflower and buckwheat. In
addition, it is among the top ten world leaders in terms of organic grains (barley, corn,
wheat), as well as vegetables and legumes.
Most grain growers have large land banks, which are usually leased land.
Holdings are interested in organic products in purpose of exporting products abroad.
This does not mean that the holdings will be engaged in processing and supply to the
domestic market. Companies with a large land bank want to shift part of their
production to organic standards.
