Sufficiently high in 2016 was profitability of wholesale, retail trade, repair of 

motor vehicles and motorcycles - 28.1%, financial and insurance activities - 31.5% and 
education - 15.2%. Of the above listed types of economic activity, the first two were 
unbeatable, but education, in the base year, ended the financial year with losses. 
Moreover, the level of its losses was -6.4%.  

During the entire period of research the activity in the area of administrative and 

support services and art, sports, entertainment and recreation was loss-making for 
Khmelnytskyi region. So, if the first kind of economic activity had minor losses, their 
level fluctuated within 1.2 - 5%, the second one - art, sports, entertainment and 
recreation had losses from 1.2 to 55%. Although the reporting year itself has shown 
that cultural activities can be carried out with minor losses. Because exactly during this 
period the level of their losses was -1,2%. 

From the above, it follows that the level of investment in Khmelnytskyi is 

increasing, the gross regional product, the share of profitable enterprises and the 
profitability of the key sectors of the economy of the analyzed area, which are subject 
to investment (agriculture, forestry and fisheries), are increasing. We can quantify the 
impact of these factors on the magnitude of production efficiency by possibly creating 
an appropriate model of factor analysis and applying appropriate methods and 
techniques. We propose an effective feature for this model - the level of returns of non-
current assets, and the factors will be the level of investment in the economy and the 
size of capital investments in the amount of 1 UAH non-current assets. A method that 
will allow calculations will be a kind of elimination, namely, the adoption of a chain 
substitution. The base period for the model will be 2012, and the reporting periods will 
change from 2013 to 2016. The results obtained will be presented in Table 9.
