confidence. Modern schools are trying to offer students more and more project and
team work on the development of leadership qualities, however, in a traditional school,
the individual approach to each student is greatly limited.

We believe that under such circumstances it is difficult to talk about the

development of true leadership qualities, because, in our opinion, leadership, above all,
is freedom, justice, honesty, consistency, intuition and understanding of oneself and
others. These qualities are best developed in family education.

The main features of family education. Today, there is the identification of

family education, homeschooling and extra-curricular (external) education.
However, there is some difference between these concepts. Thus, in case of family
education parents take responsibility for organizing the educational process of the
child, which is not necessarily conducted at home. This may be studying at an
alternative school, for example.

Homeschooling involves teaching a child exclusively at home by either parents

or teachers who come to this child, for example, when the child is unable to attend a
traditional school due to physical, psychological or other characteristics. The external
studies involve the independent processing of the material by the listener, in particular
at a faster pace than it happens in traditional school.

Table 1 shows the main positive and negative features of the family form of

education:

Table 1 Positive and negative features of the family form of education

Positive features

Negative features

1.

Free use of own time

1. It is often difficult for parents to arrange
the education of a child at home and to act
both as parents and teachers at the same time

2.

Ability to visit many trainings and clubs

simultaneously to identify the interests of the child

2. The child should have a sufficiently high
level of self-motivation

3.

Ability to travel

3. Many children are not trained to do their
own lessons, and parents cannot give the
child a lot of their time

4.

Ability to adjust to a child’s pace

4. There is no detailed information on the
transition to a family form of education

Saving money on school uniform, school

repairs etc.

5. Difficulties with the socialization of the
child

6.

A student studies what is interesting to him

6. Expenses for tutors / coaches

7.

Free choice of textbooks and training programs 7. It is necessary to choose and buy

textbooks as well as to pay for the child's
education in private or alternative schools

8.

The family form of education is ideal for

children who are professionally engaged in sports,
art, etc., as well as for those whose parents move
from place to place, and the constant change of
schools may be stressful for the child

8. Family education does not mean full
freedom and lack of attestation in a
traditional school
