CLASSIFICATION OF INNOVATIONS AND FEATURES OF
INNOVATIVE PRIORITIES OF THE HOTEL INDUSTRY
Introduction. Questions of innovation development have always been under
thorough attention of scientists at the time of industrial revolution.
Modern world of innovations is very diverse. The fast development of society
shows that their quantity will be increased at a much faster pace. That is why for most
scientists and practical experts the most important meaning of innovations is its
typology. Classification of innovations in certain groups provides an opportunity not
only to realize their role in the development of society, but also to provide a number of
other important results: specification of the structure of the system object of research;
to establish problem communication both in the system research object itself and
between different types of innovations; to evaluate orientation and efficiency of the
innovation process; to determine the prospects of future innovations; to select methods
of management, adequate to the peculiarities of each innovation process, which derive
from the predominant type of innovation that forms these processes; to create economic
mechanisms and organizational forms of management of innovative activity depending
on the type of innovations; to define methods and forms of realization and promotion
of innovative product and innovative technology depending on different types of
innovations; to optimize organizational forms of innovation activity and innovation
infrastructure, economic relations in the innovation sphere; to create incentives for
activating innovation processes in the industry, regions and enterprises; distinguish
between innovations and pseudo-innovations.
The heterogeneity of the interpretation of the term «innovation», its many-
sidedness and complex nature, predetermines the existence of a number of
classifications, which were investigated by such foreign scholars: J. Schumpeter,
G. Mensch, B. Twis, B. Santo, M.Porter, P. Drucker, D. Tidd and others. Modern
domestic scientists Antonyuk L. L., Poruchnik A. M., Savchuk V. S. define about 20
features [1]. Depending on diversity of classification, scientific and educational
information sources now represent several classification groups of innovations
