The aim of the study is to research the effectiveness of international investment
in public-private partnership projects in pursuit of the global goals of sustainable
development and the development of a new generation of international investment
policy.
Taking into account the purpose and logic of the research, the paper describes
modern practices of international investment of public-private partnership in the
context of social orientation of economies.
The research is carried out using both general scientific and special methods, in
particular: methods of scientific abstraction, analysis and synthesis to substantiate the
synergistic interdependence of sustainable development strategies and PPPs, as well as
in the process of analysis of the regulatory initiatives of leading countries in the field
of international investment in PPP projects; historical-logical method in studying the
genesis and evolution of PPP in different countries of the world; qualitative and
quantitative comparative analysis in the process of country analysis of forms and
models of application of PPP; the systematic approach, the method of theoretical
generalization in the process of implementation of the country stratification of PPP
mechanisms.
A wide range of domestic and foreign literary sources, reports, informational
materials, analytical reviews and expert assessments of international organizations
became the source and statistical basis of the research.
Creation of socially oriented economies and infrastructure financing deficit.
The creation of socially oriented economies for sustainable development ensures a
balanced development, increases the comfort of life and, as a consequence, forms the
basis for gaining a high competitive status of the countries, increasing their investment
attractiveness, successful development of production and the economy as a whole.
A socially oriented market economy is a concept that today is associated with the
economic systems of developed countries. Ensuring social progress, a high standard of
living, happiness, prosperity and sustainable development of the countries has become
one of the most important global goals of humanity, therefore indicators of social
development are increasingly considered as an alternative to indicators of economic
development [1]. This is evidenced by the Quality of Living Index, The Social Progress
Index, The Legatum Prosperity Index, and the Health-related SDG Index, which
assesses where each country is in the direction of achieving Sustainable Development
Goals (SDGs) and designed to measure social welfare in one or another country [2].
The study of the degree of dependence of the level of satisfaction with life in
different countries of the world on the level of social development, performed by well-
known scientist Michael Porter (Fig. 1), has shown that the population of countries
with significantly higher social development, and thus with better living conditions,
developed infrastructure, safe environment, proper education and health care.
