The practical application of the proposed methodology for diagnosing the state of
the region presupposes the collection and processing of data on the use of natural
resources, the disposal of waste in the environment, and the economic and social
development of society etc.
Based on results of these studies, we analyzed for 6 years the tendencies of
Ukrainian development. Next were identified stages of the transition period of
sustainable development that lead to the current conditions. In particular, we have
calculated the integral indicator of sustainable development for economic, social and
ecological systems, that are presented in Table 4.
This methodology makes it possible to simplify the process of calculating the
indices of sustainable development, and most importantly, describes the trends in the
development of the main processes in the region and the direction of their changes in
the dynamics. This approach can contribute to the improvement of methods for
diagnosing the development of the regions of Ukraine in order to achieve «green»
economy.
