as a priority area of national economic development for all areas. The analysis of
modern approaches to the assessment of the development of Ukraine, demonstrates the
need for their further improvement through the formation of a comprehensive
evaluation, which should be based on the statistical reporting system and which will
take into account the environmental, economic and social factors.
The research suggests an approach to assessing the country's ecological and
economic state and characteristics of the level of development of the national economy
on the basis of a comprehensive analysis of environmental-economic, socio-
demographic and organizational-technical indicators, with a view towards regulating
and forecasting the processes which are needed to achieve the goals of sustainable
development. The practical application of the proposed methodology for assessing
sustainable development can be used for the work of various structures of state and
regional government, the media and the public.
For further scientific research, the authors offer not to be limited only by
examination of the integral indicator of Ukrainian SEE, but rather to study this problem
in complex with analysis of the investments and financial provisions of the
government.
