Figure 8. Dynamics of foreign trade balance of Ukraine with France,
$ USD million
Source: compiled by the authors according to the data [15]
Trend lines on exports and imports show tendencies for a slight drop in exports
from Ukraine to France and a slight increase in imports from France to Ukraine,
indicating a lack of parity in the dynamics of foreign trade balance between countries.
Quantitative parity is estimated by the balance of foreign trade relations, the dynamics
of which between Ukraine and France is depicted in rice. 9.
Figure 9. Dynamics of foreign trade balance of Ukraine - France, $ USA billion
Source: compiled by the authors according to the data [15]
The general nature of Ukraine's foreign trade relations with the EU changed in
2014, when the difference between exports and imports of Ukrainian goods to the EU
countries was reduced by almost 5 times (from 8,3 to 1,7 $ USD billion) with a slight
increase in exports (by 0,4 $ USD billion) and a substantial decrease in imports (by
almost 23% or 6,2 $ USD billion). At the same time, we will not notice such changes
between foreign trade relations between Ukraine and France, as shown in Fig. 9.
Permanent exaggeration of imports over exports is well visualized by the
dynamics of the import-export coverage ratio shown on Fig. 10.
