manifestations and interconnections and reconstruction or abstract-historical principle
as a logical way of studying historical phenomena within the historical approach of a
specific historical principle is allocated. The principle of concrete-historical research
determines the study of the content of the history of a particular subject, but the
abstract-historical principle covers the identification of certain historical laws in its
pure form. The value of the historical approach in design is that it helps to find out the
historical changes in the relationship of design system. It helps to understand that object
is not autonomous it reflects the reality.
Modern design history is a consistent process of consideration of design
development starting from the first decade of the twentieth century. The development
of the morphology of the subject world is considered to be a prehistory of design. The
most researches consider 1970 to be the birth of design — with the creation of the
Union "Verkbund", in Germany, which united the efforts of artists and industrialists
interested in improving the consumer qualities of industrial products.
There are few conditional stages distinguished in the history of design
development:
The 1
st
stage (Establishment) — from the beginning and up to 30
s
of XX century.
It includes the events of Europe and the United States, which were characterized by a
revolutionary burst of ideas and declarations, non-conformist experiments, and the
search for means of expression, materials, forms that would correspond to a massive
way of industrial creation of new material and artistic values. Its main task was, mostly,
not to decorate the world of things and spaces. But to build it according to the laws that
became conditioned by the function, design and production technology. It "demanded"
the corresponding external forms.
The 2
nd
stage (Distribution or affirmation) — up to 60
s
of XX century. It is
characterized by the spread of geography of design to all continents and rooting the
new proposed forms of society, except obvious exceptions to the years of the war.
Therefore, from some strange fashion, they become usual, "international style" and a
sign of the image of the XX century. This period is characterized by focusing on
organizational and market design problems, expanding boundaries, and establishing
new forms of control over the tastes, preferences and adoptions of consumer decisions
by different groups of consumers.
The 3
rd
stage (Socio-cultural immersion) of design, as for our opinion, continued
up to the 80s of the XX century. From the one form form-making style it was
determined by the development of design system views on the world. He began to
transform into diverse streams of stylistic concepts. There was the start of
understanding the importance of the development of "regional designs", their role in
the public attitude to the design culture and the identification of the cyclic-feedback
system of the "lifestyle — the image of the subject-spatial man environment" begins.
