communication between individuals) and global problems (social inequality in
connection with the inequality of social positions) of macro-sociological character.
Gradually, our belief is approved that design as a specific kind of artistic and design
activities, is not only a practical attempt to reconcile utilitarian and aesthetic in the
process of ensuring the physical environment of man.
The rationale for bringing a philosophical approach to design consists of its
potential "to rise to the required height" and complete summarizing the function of
research design various scientific directions and branches of science; to identify and
establish their interdisciplinary connections; find out what is and trace the content of
the conceptual core of the design activities during a certain historical period in a certain
socio-cultural circumstances of society.
Marking love for knowledge and wisdom (in ancient Greek), philosophy is a
sphere of activity, which in summary form deals with the most essential characteristics
and fundamental principles of reality, knowledge, existence of man, his relationship
with the world as a relation to nature, society and spiritual life in all its manifestations.
The perception of philosophy as a form of human philosophy and general critical
approach to knowledge, which may be applied to any object or concept, in our opinion,
does not deny a more narrow understanding of it as a science with a specific subject of
study. Thus, the combination of philosophy with other sciences — subject sectors,
today provides the opportunity to separately talk about the philosophy of logic,
mathematics, history, aesthetics, religion, law and the like. The recognition of design
science, respectively, gives every reason to consider a dedicated design philosophy —
the study of the soil fundamental concepts and results of the design activity.
In this case, the relationship between science of design and design philosophy is
due to their joint consideration of the design and the difference is based on the
difference in the nature of their methodology. So, it is the method, not the object, that
is refracted through the prism of one or another global approach, is becoming a decisive
criterion of belonging to the scientific or philosophical research. Due to its
characteristics, the attention of philosophy, is focused on the foundations where the
scope of research emerges and which are for its essential starting point. M. Heidegger
noted that "the must is assumed by the essence of science. Accordingly, one would
expect that science itself can also detect in itself this necessary and define it. But once
this does not happen, moreover due to the fact that it is impossible in its nature" [15, p.
346]. The concept of "necessary" according to M. Heidegger includes those great
objects, without which the sciences lose their meaning. So, for physics it is the nature
for psychiatry - people, for philology — the language and the like. In his opinion, no
science can come to his/her own nature and to express it as the very form of expression,
which is owned by these sciences, do not provide such an opportunity. "With the help
of mathematical calculations it is not possible to figure out what the mathematics itself
