not only to the beautiful but also disgusting, ironic, tragic, and the like. The search for
balance between internal and external (and vice versa) led to the identification of the
problems of the harmonious matching of objectives and forms of its achievement to
the level of one of the main objectives of the design.
The anthropological approach became a logical continuation of the search for the
human-oriented values in design. Next to such categories as a design quality,
manufacturability, usability, practicality, beauty the aspects of emotional reactions
corresponding to the state of inner harmony with the environment in which people must
be are under consideration.
Social approach revealed wide possibilities of design not only as a means of social
and cultural influence but also as a method of organization of the social environment
and communicative processes in it. Socio-contextual design seems to be a necessary
alternative to the traditional non-industrial-oriented design. Its undoubted advantage is
the potential ability to solve both individual and social, global social problems.
Given the foregoing, the conditionality of the attraction of the philosophical
approach is the need for combining results from different studies of the historical,
cultural, aesthetic, anthropological and social functioning boundaries of design with
the aim of establishing the essence of the design activity and determine the basics of
what forms the direction of the creative designer.
