MYKHAILO SELEZINKA`S ART IN THE CONTEXT OF MODERN
ARTISTIC PROCESS
Introduction. Modern artistic process is a multi-vector and dynamic
phenomenon, that is connected with the variety of creative directions, individual
artistic practices and evolution of established specific limits. The phenomenon of
artistic culture is talent, aesthetic taste, creative imagination, general culture of the
artist, his professional skills [1, p. 24].
Mykhailo Selezinka belongs to the cogort of those artists who clearly outlined
their own cultural and aesthetic, figurative and ideological space, identifying it with
different contexts. He is naturally endowed with sensual experience and using during
the process of creative act the combination of plastic shapes, lines and multicolor
spaces, the artist creates a new reality filled with the postmodern philosophy of being.
As certain philosophical and aesthetic model, it provides recession of stereotypes,
totalitarianism and is based on the promotion of plurality of thoughts and judgements
and simulated reality is understood as an axiom of nowadays. This statement has
several directions of solution in the theoretical and practical aspect. One of them leads
to the imitation of nature. The other provides the transformation of an empirical image
into the certain rational construction and, accordingly, motivates to create the form
independently.
Every new stage in the creativity of the artist «is marked by an equivalent
innovative form, that carries a deep information about the artist`s feeling about the era
[2, p. 228]. The search for the form of the artistic expression a variance in the stylistic
structure of the artistic work takes place in the range of cultural and social issues and
tasks that the artist sets in each particular case».
Worldview aspects of creativity. Philosophical mentality of the artist consists of
human knowledge, that forms the integrity of the worldwide picture and rely on both
empirical and theoretical methods of knowledge.
Mykhailo Selezinka began his artistic career during the study in the Polytechnic
Institute (now it is the Lviv Polytechnic National University) at the Faculty of
Architecture. He had wonderful preceptors – I. Yarema, Z. Ketzalo, I. Ostafiychuk to
whom he owes his professional development. During the following years, he was
creatively realized in various types of plastic arts, primarily painting and graphics.
Meticulus study of nature and environment was the first experience of figurative plastic
