According to the research results, preferences of different age groups of
respondents differ for different kinds of food products. In particular, for people up to
30 years old, it is attractive to buy dairy products in cardboard, and people of above 30
years old – it is glass. For meat and offal, as well as sausages and smoked meat,
respondents prefer vacuum packaging, mainly those in the group of up to 30 years old,
where the share by 5,1% and 16,4% more respectively. Respondents consider that it is
attractive when cereals are packed in plastic, while among young people the share is
larger by 9,4%. Speaking about attractive packaging for pastry, ideas of both age group
are almost the same, i.e. 46,3% among the people up to 30 years old, and 49,5% among
the people of above 30 years old. For packaging of fish, vacuum packaging is the most
attractive for the group up to 30 years old, and plastic one – for above 30 years group.
Respondents consider the most attractive packaging is the one, which is the most
safe (Figure 10), in particular glass (41%), paper (36,8%), cardboard (25%), vacuum
packaging (35,2%).

Thus, ideas of the respondents of different age groups is a little different.
Particularly, respondents up to 30 years old consider vacuum packaging and glass are
the safest, and respondents above 30 years old consider it is grass and paper. Both
groups of respondents consider that plastic is the least safe packaging (4,6% of
consumers up to 30 years old and 8,3% of consumers above 30 years old), as well as
