GLOBAL DIMENSIONS OF ECONOMIC SECURITY
Introduction. Today globalisation is seen as a wide-ranging process and one of
the most influential forces that determines the development and security of states and
economies worldwide. Globalisation applies to all areas of life: from industrial to
social. Globalisation processes have a direct and multi-faceted impact on the security
of countries that is reflected in their economic, social, industrial, innovative and
environmental domains. The current stage of development is characterized by global
changes in the worldviews, values and means of achieving goals. Globalisation
expands horizons for countries, regions, cities, and individuals. Unlimited access to
information, opportunities for self-development, vast digitalisation, and rapid shifts in
the internal and external environments have changed our attitude to everything that
seemed true and great just a decade or two ago. Today, globalisation determines the
degree of economic security, both globally and nationally.
Economic security is becoming the top priority among all functional areas of
security. Globalisation, digitalisation and increased competition make it imperative for
countries to safeguard their economic security. The development of new and
modification of existing tools aimed to increase the effectiveness of security
mechanisms becomes a prerequisite for sustainable economic growth.
In the times of rapid changes in the contemporary economic conditions, the ability
to guarantee security against internal and external threats determines the level of a
country’s competitiveness and the dynamics of its social and economic growth. Issues
of economic security in the development of the national innovation system are gaining
increased relevance for Ukraine as the country needs to mitigate the risks of
globalisation and maximize the attraction of world resources to reach the country’s
goals of sustainable development.
Economic, socio-political, and cultural development of the mankind In the first
two decades of the XXI century is largely affected by the globalisation. Its economic
component is associated primarily with resources, factors and forms of economic
