The notion of "generalized skill" was introduced into scientific circulation by A.
Usov, A. Bobrov [13, p. 5] on the designation of the category of skills that are flexible
in their properties are easily transferred to new circumstances aimed at developing the
intellectual abilities of students, characterized by awareness, intelligence,
purposefulness, arbitrariness, planning, progressivity, practical efficiency, the merging
of mental and practical actions, variation ways to achieve the goal. General skills cover
a wide range of activities.
To generalized skills, we refer to the ability to learn in the system of continuous
education, which we denote: the ability to conscious, consistent and contributing to the
development and self-development of actions that are subordinated to a certain goal,
are directed towards goals, coordinated by reflection and implemented in the process
of the thematic combination of formal, informal and informal education from engaging
in different levels of education or by deploying on one of them.
To the components of the ability to study in the system of continuous education
we include: the ability to formulate the goal of future activities; ability to set goals;
ability to formulate a task; the ability to establish consistency between the formulated
tasks and the existing conditions; the ability to thematically combine formal, informal
and informational education (FIN simulation) on the basis of application of different
types of models of their ordering (Pic. 1); ability to determine the perspective direction
of self-development in the context of continuing education; the ability to model self-
education and self-education on the basis of: identifying meaningful benchmarks of the
process; setting the time intervals required for moving from one landmark to another;
determination of the method of self-control of the process of passing each of the
landmarks
Comparing the ability to learn from the ability to study in the system of continuing
education, we note that, first, these skills are related to productive skills, that is, their
use is mastered knowledge and methods of action; and secondly, in order to achieve
the goal of the operation, these skills require the creative use of the subject of existing
knowledge and skills in changed conditions.
The difference between the ability to learn and the ability to study in the system
of continuous education is determined taking into account: skills classification and
specifying the field of their application. Let's consider more in detail.
According to our considerations, the semantic series of the concept "learn" form
the notion of "learning" and "learning activity", and with the notion of "studying" – the
concept of "studies" and "cognitive activity".
