PROBLEMS AND PRECONDITIONS FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF
INTER-REGIONAL ECONOMIC COOPERATION BETWEEN UKRAINE
AND SOCIAL COUNTRIES IN THE CONTEXT OF CURRENT POLITICAL
AND ECONOMIC TRENDS
Introduction. At the moment, the dominant tendency that determines the
direction and nature of interregional economic cooperation between Ukraine and
neighboring countries is the direction of Ukraine's maximum integration into the
European economic, socio-cultural, and political environment [3, p. 54-55]. This
tendency is a natural consequence of Ukraine's independence and its real assertion and
strengthening and is based on the desire of the Ukrainian people to live in a democratic,
economically developed state, which cares about the well-being of its citizens. The
model of such a state is the EU countries.
In contrast, especially during the last five years, contradictions with the country
with the largest border along the Ukraine's borders, the Russian Federation, became
more acute. The indicated contradictions appeared in the open military conflict,
Russia's annexation of part of the territory of Ukraine, the introduction of mutual
economic restrictions and sanctions, which led to a significant reduction of economic
cooperation between the countries.
Under these conditions, when it is obvious that Ukraine's priorities for cooperation
with traditional partner countries from the former USSR to work in a competitive EU
market are evident [11], the development of productive interaction with western
neighboring countries [1], when it became clear that the essence of getting
independence from the formal status of subjects to the assertion of independence from
the Russian Federation with the consolidation of sovereignty, inviolability of borders
in internationally recognized boundaries, ensuring economic security, important
scientific head annyamy is to study the problem and determine the prerequisites of
interregional economic cooperation between Ukraine and neighboring countries in the
context of the current political and economic trends. The urgency of this problem
determined the subject and purpose of this scientific article.
